We Call it Resurrection Sunday

Standard

That day.

I can see it now.

The thunder…the lightning…the rain pour down.

As the lightning strikes I see Him.

With His head down, crying out to His Father on that cross.

We call it Resurrection Sunday.

I hear the tear of something in the distance.

As I walk to the temple I see it.

My eyes are too fogged with tears to see its beauty.

The curtain.

Access to the Father.

We call it Resurrection Sunday.

My feet scrape across the ground of the tomb where my Savior lay.

My heart fills with joy.

“He is not here.”

“HE IS RISEN!”

We call it Resurrection Sunday.

One Day I’ll see Him in glory.

We call it Resurrection Sunday.

One Day I’ll understand.

We call it Resurrection Sunday.

One Day when He wipes the tears from my eyes.

I’ll ask Him, “why did we call it Resurrection Sunday?”

“My dear child. We call it Resurrection Sunday because it was the Day I conquered death.”

The Day you came to know how much I love you.

And it is the Day the world will try to overshadow.

But they will never be able to stop this Day from being celebrated…because it’s the Day I resurrected from the dead.”

Sarah Skepple

The world will do its best to destroy Resurrection Sunday by it’s bunnies, eggs, and discounted clothing sales, but we must never forget our Savior’s Resurrection.
